Tutankhamun and his Time (1967)

Organised by the Egyptologist Christiane Desroches-Noblecourt, curator at the department of Egyptian antiquities at the Louvre Museum, thanks to exceptional loans from the Museum of Cairo, the exhibition “Tutankhamun and his Time” was able to present a selection of objects belonging to the burial goods from the tomb of Tutankhamun, pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty (1361-1342 BC).

This exhibition, with over 1.24 million visitors, remained for fifty years France’s most visited exhibition (this record was only beaten in 2019 by Tutankhamun, Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, organised at the Grande Halle de La Villette).
