The “Choosing Paris: major donations to City of Paris museums” colloquium, organised on the 11th and 12th of October 2013 by Paris Museums and the INHA (French National Institute on the History of Art) constituted an opportunity to pay tribute to the Dutuit brothers, major donors of ancient art to the Petit Palais, and to the sculptors (and their families) who generously replied to the call for donations launched by Henry Lapauze, Director of the Petit Palais from 1905 to 1925, in order to increase and diversify the museum’s collections.
